The Educational Program Officer will provide both administrative and educational support to the Vice President of Education. This unique role requires experience in early childhood education and will play a key part in driving program success through data analysis, curriculum support, and administrative management. The position supports the VP of Education in strategic planning, instructional improvements, and operational excellence to ensure the success of educational programs across all sites.
RequirementsPrimary Responsibilities/ Tasks:
1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
a. Analyze student outcome data to measure progress toward school readiness goals and identify trends and areas for improvement.
b. Create and present educational reports to inform instructional practices and drive program improvements.
c. Ensure staff are trained in effective instructional strategies, curriculum implementation, and data-driven decision-making.
d. Enter and track data related to Salesforce metrics and milestones while managing databases for the Department of Education.
2. Grant Writing and Compliance:
a. Assist with grant writing and reporting to secure funding for educational programs.
b. Participate in program audits and corrective action plans to ensure compliance with all educational standards and requirements.
3. Program Management:
a. Assist the VP of Education with strategic planning, development, and implementation of educational programs and special projects.
b. Ensure fidelity in curriculum implementation across all program sites and oversee the development of curriculum that aligns with educational standards and program goals.
c. Design and support academic programming for Dual Language Immersion programs (Spanish and English).
d. Implement instructional strategies to ensure that 80% of children meet school readiness goals according to the Bracken Assessment Tool and Teaching Strategies GOLD.
e. Develop systems for monitoring and evaluating instructional practices.
f. Support the onboarding process for instructional staff.
g. Assist the VP in streamlining processes and standardizing practices within the education department.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
a. Work closely with program directors and administrative staff to ensure cohesive program delivery and maintain clear communication with staff.
b. Facilitate regular meetings to discuss instructional strategies, student progress, and program improvements.
5. Research and Innovation:
a. Research best practices and innovative programming in early childhood education to assist with the growth and development of the educational department.
b. Support special projects as assigned.
6. Administrative Support:
a. Manage the VP of Education’s calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel as necessary.
b. Prepare and respond to emails, maintain records, and ensure smooth administrative operations.
c. Organize materials for speaking engagements and meetings, including PowerPoint presentations, reports, and other documents, while proofreading and editing correspondence for clarity and accuracy.
d. Collaborate with the VP to prepare complex reports, interpret data, and track various projects.
e. Serve as a liaison for the VP of Economic Mobility to external parties and attend meetings in their absence.
f. Assist with requisitions and expense reports.
7. Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of Education.
? Bachelor's Degree or graduate-level work that includes coursework equivalent to a major in Early Childhood Education, Education, Curriculum, or closely related field. (Official transcripts required to validate educational credentials.) Masters Preferred
? Minimum of 3 years' experience in Early Childhood.
? Strong Knowledge of early childhood curriculum development, instructional strategies, and dual language immersion programs.
? Experience with data analysis and using data to inform instructional practices.
? Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
? Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners.
? Commitment to promoting educational equity and excellence for all children.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills.
? Ability to converse, read and write Spanish and English (preferred).
? Demonstrated ability to implement the use of appropriate curricula and instructional materials to enhance teaching and learning.
? Intermediate to advanced computer skills, internet, and e-mail.
? Ability to secure clearance for PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History, FBI, and National Sex Offenders Clearance (required).
? Possess or ability to secure a Driver’s License and insurance (preferred).
? Ability to secure health clearances every two years and TB once (required).
? Proficiency in Excel, Powe point and Microsoft Office, Salesforce.
