SPECIAL NOTES:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Additional requirements:

  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ clerical experience.

Preference:

  • A minimum of one (1) year experience with a multi-line phone system.

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

This position will be 30 hours per week.

This position is located in Ocala, Florida and will be hired at an $15.00 per hour.

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle (OPS employee pay cycles begin on the 15th of the prior month and ends on the 14th of the current month).

Responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported by the state application and any omission, falsification, or misrepresentation in the answering of the qualifying questions will be cause for immediate elimination from the selection process.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of general office, administrative, and clerical procedures and systems.
  • Knowledge of customer service techniques.
  • Knowledge of the principles of interpersonal relationships.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to understand applicable Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer with proficiency in MSOffice Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain internal and external working relationships with others.
  • Ability to work with confidential materials.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Responsible for Standards correspondence to include emailing ProBoard and IFSAC applications per individual request, print and mail Florida State certificates from, send certified letters, assist in the coding, bundling, sorting, and distribution incoming mail, and prepares correspondence requesting additional information regarding applications for certification that are incomplete or incorrect.

Serves as the backup to the Secretary Specialist answering incoming phone calls and emails.

Prepare and assist in scanning supplemental compensation applications, firefighter applications, and additional documents as required and other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
