Position Summary The Campus Executive/ Campus Pastor is an administrator who reports to the University President and operationally represents the Office of the President daily on the Ann Arbor campus. In particular, this individual encourages the entire campus community to meet university goals in terms of mission fulfillment, enrollment management, and fiscal discipline. This position also works collaboratively with the Executive Team, the leadership of the Ann Arbor campus, and other offices across the university to maximize the impact of the Ann Arbor campus. This individual also serves as campus pastor for the Ann Arbor campus and coordinates campus ministry activities-in alignment with the Mequon campus-across the Ann Arbor campus. Job Duties and Responsibilities * Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Ann Arbor campus and ensure they are aligned fully with the policies and practices of the university. * Lead the Ann Arbor Campus Leadership Team, ensuring that all local offices and departments are carrying out the university mission, providing a transformative education for students, and promoting student success-all in alignment with university policy and practice. * Serve as campus pastor, directing and coordinating-in alignment with the University President, Vice President for Mission and Church Relations, and CUW Campus Pastor-all campus ministry initiatives and activities. * Amplify the work of the President through regular communication, connection, and collaboration with his office. * Represent-at the request of the University President-the Ann Arbor campus at public and private events and with various constituent groups. * Represent-at the request of the University President or the Vice President for Mission and Church Relations-the Ann Arbor campus at LC-MS and Michigan District events. * Oversee staff who lead the following units on the Ann Arbor campus, including: * Executive Assistant (OOTP) * Director of Buildings and Grounds * Advocate for the needs of-and raise awareness of-the Ann Arbor campus to the greater university community. * Work closely with the Vice President for Enrollment and speak regularly to prospective students and families. * Work closely with Human Resources in championing a Christ-centered, mission-driven, student-focused culture for all employees. This includes Concordia Cares and other regular employee gatherings. * Coordinate-in connection with the VP/ Mission & Church Relations-all Concordia Sundays for CUAA and represent the university at 6 or more Concordia Sundays per academic year. * Serve as a member of the university faculty in an appropriate department. * Other responsibilities as recommended or assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Professional experience that includes the administration of a high level upper management leadership position including administrative, governance, budget, policies, programs, and initiatives. * Strong work ethic, personal integrity, excellent communication skills, strategic thinking and planning skills. * Analytical, strategic thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills. * Ability to articulate the University's mission, traditions, values, and perspectives. * Ability to develop budgets and design and manage efficient business processes. * Demonstrated organizational, management, leadership and critical thinking skills. * Demonstrated ability to provide effective short-term and long-term vision and leadership in a changing higher education environment. * Ability to maintain productive relationships with all segments of the community and with appropriate external stakeholders. * Exemplary communication skills (both oral and written) evidenced by a background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive briefings. * Ability to thrive in an environment that requires strategic thought and tactical execution. * Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) Education and Experience * Rostered status as an ordained Minister of Religion in the LC-MS and active member of LC-MS congregation. * Doctoral or terminal degree preferred * Experience in a (faith-based) higher education environment. Preferred. Physical Demands/Equipment Compensation and Benefits This is a full-time, salaried exempt position. The starting wage may be determined upon education and/or experience.
