Vista is interested in hiring an Emergency Room Technician who is looking to broaden his/her skills and gain valuable experience working in a community hospital that worked hard to achieve status as certified Centers of Excellence in numerous critical areas of patient care. Vista Medical Center East is home to a Level II Trauma Center-certified Emergency Department staffed by board-certified emergency physicians and trauma-trained nurses.

Responsibilities:

• The Emergency Room Technician will play a vital role in healthcare delivery as well as providing essential, professional administrative support.
• Perform patient care activities within the scope of licensure and training.
• Assist with the assessment of patient status; collect patient data, and clinical data.
• Perform diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Implement plan of care by performing basic patient care tech nursing skills and deliver individualized patient care.
• Perform monitor technician duties and successfully complete monitor tech course.

Qualifications, Desired Skills, and Experiences

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers - CPR certification required

Must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Successful completion of an IL-approved CNA training program.
• Successfully completed a nursing arts course (Basics in Nursing, Fundamentals of Nursing, Nursing 101, etc.) along with passing written competency test*
• Registered LPN in IL
• Have successfully completed a U.S. military training program that includes the content of a nurse aid training program. (i.e. hospital corpsman)
• Successfully completed a nursing program equivalent to a LPN or RN in a foreign country
• Have deemed competent on another state's registry for CNAs (proof must be provided)
• Graduate RN who has not successfully met all criteria for licensure
• Current licensure as an EMT in the state of Illinois
