As a Business Development Reservoir Engineer at Magnolia Oil & Gas, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and executing the company's strategic initiatives to improve the business growth, and sustainability, and enhance shareholder value. Leveraging your technical expertise in E&P operations and financial modeling, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to assess opportunities, develop comprehensive business plans, and execute key projects from start to finish. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential business prospects within the E&P sector. * Develop and refine business development strategies in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives. * Evaluate potential acquisitions, partnerships, and investment opportunities through comprehensive technical and financial due diligence processes. * Utilize financial modeling techniques to assess project economics, evaluate risks, and optimize investment decisions. * Collaborate with internal stakeholders to formulate business cases, including feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and assess risk. * Lead or support the execution of identified projects, including negotiating agreements, managing contracts, and overseeing project implementation and integration into existing operations. * Work closely with technical teams to ensure alignment between project objectives, technical requirements, and financial targets. * Monitor project performance against key metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary. * Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions. * Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and networking events to enhance visibility and identify collaboration opportunities. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering, required. Advanced degree (MBA or master's in finance), preferred. * 10+ years of overall industry experience with a strong technical background and business development/evaluation experience for an exploration and production company and/or investment banking company, required. * Proven experience in financial modeling, investment analysis, and business valuation within the energy sector. * Eagle Ford basin experience, preferred. * Experience with various systems like Aries, Spotfire/BI, Harmony Suite, required. * Experience with RTA, preferred. * Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and financial data into actionable insights. * Demonstrated project management capabilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build relationships with external partners. * Strategic mindset with a proactive and entrepreneurial approach to identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. * Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, market dynamics, and emerging technologies is desirable.
