About the Role: As a Summer Day Camp Counselor at Griffin Recreation Center, you'll be directly responsible for supervising and engaging with a group of children ages 5-12. You'll create and lead age-appropriate activities that promote creativity, physical activity, and teamwork, ensuring a fun and safe environment for all participants. Key Responsibilities: * Act as a positive role model by exemplifying Greensboro's Core Values: Honesty, Integrity, Respect, and Stewardship. * Supervise a group of approximately 12 children, ensuring their safety and well-being. * Plan, organize, and lead a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, sports, wellness games, music, drama, and field trips. * Facilitate both structured and informal play activities. * Maintain accurate records and prepare daily reports as needed. * Assist with setup, cleanup, and maintenance of program areas. * Respond to emergencies as trained, ensuring the safety of all participants. * Provide exceptional customer service to children, parents, and staff. * Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and program activities. What You Bring: Minimum Qualifications: * Must be at least 18 years of age by June 1, 2025 * Valid Driver's License. * Prior computer experience using Word and Excel software programs (indicate on application) * Prior experience working with school aged children (indicate on application) * Physical capability to stand and walk for extended periods. * Ability to work as scheduled from June through August Preferred Qualifications: * Prior experience with recreation management software * Bilingual * Reliable transportation Ready to Lead?
