Position Summary
Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:
* Managing constituent inquiries and casework;
* Researching and tracking legislation;
* Maintaining a constituent database;
* Managing social media accounts;
* Writing press releases, columns, and e-newsletters;
* Maintaining Rep. Andraca's website;
* Coordinating in-district activities;
* Staffing legislative committee meetings;
* Assisting in supervising office interns;
* Scheduling events;
* Preparing briefings for Rep. Andraca on upcoming bills
Salary Information
The hourly rate for this position is between $20.52 and $31.27, based upon skills, experience, education, and qualifications. This position does not qualify for state benefits. *Please note, this is a temporary position through January 6, 2025
Qualifications
Qualified individuals will possess the following skills, knowledge and abilities:
* Excellent written and oral communication skills;
* Word processing and database management skills;
* Knowledge of legislative, administrative, and judicial systems;
* Ability to research and solve constituent questions and problems;
* Ability to learn how to research legislation and prepare briefings for the legislator on relevant proposed legislation;
* Ability to perform multiple tasks with efficiency and accuracy within assigned deadlines; and,
* Ability to work both independently and cooperatively, while exercising professional judgment and confidentiality at all times.
* Desire to serve the public and advance Democratic policies
* Sense of humor and enthusiasm to work as part of a team
In addition, a Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but relevant work experience, education, and knowledge will be considered.
