Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The first officer is responsible for acting as second in command of Company aircraft.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

80% - Performing SIC duties including:

  • Performing preflight duties-following interior and exterior checklists, clean windshields and wing leading edges of bugs, postflight clean interior of trash, newspapers, containers, etc.

  • Placing and removing on board weight and balance computer and portable ADS-B receiver

  • Computing and posting takeoff performance numbers and landing speed and go around power settings

  • Providing Standard Altitude Callouts, Radio Communications

  • Receiving ATIS, ASOS or Airport Advisory Information

  • Monitoring Flight and PIC actions for adherence to ATC Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures

  • Assisting with aircraft fueling operations

10% - Assisting/briefing passengers during boarding, all phases of flight and de-boarding

5% - Other miscellaneous duties as determined by the PIC and Flight Department Manager

5% - Attending training as assigned by PIC and Flight Department Manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Pilot Total Time: 2,000 hours; Fixed Wing: 1,500 hours; Turbine: 500 hours

  • Valid/Current Driver’s License and US Passport

Required Technical Skills/Knowledge:

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot Rating, Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings, CE-560 XLS+ type rating

  • Knowledge of FAR 61; FAR 91; AIM; airway and approach charts

General Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Ability to understand and follow the Les Schwab Flight Operations Manual

  • Ability to fly aircraft with high degree of skill

  • Ability to comply with FAR 61.55

  • Customer Service and Communication Skills to work directly with Passengers

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to Pass/Obtain FAA First Class Medical Certificate

  • Ability to climb, lift and carry awkward containers, gain entry into SIC cockpit position, assist others in entry/exit of aircraft.

Work Environment:

  • Some exposure to adverse environmental conditions
