VISTA Volunteer Coordinator The Nevada Free Taxes Coalition (NFTC) is a non-profit based in Las Vegas Nevada that provides free income tax preparation for low to moderate-income (LMI) taxpayers under the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. The Nevada Free Taxes Coalition (NFTC) VISTA project aims to break the cycle of poverty in Sothern Nevada by utilizing community volunteers to provide referrals to community financial programs and by providing free tax preparation services to low and moderate-income (LMI) taxpayers, limited English-speaking persons, veterans, seniors, and persons with disabilities. The VISTA member will build Nevada Free Taxes Coalition's capacity to provide these services by developing and implementing a comprehensive system for volunteer recruitment, management, and retention. NFTC VISTA members will gain invaluable work experience as community volunteer recruiters and managers and will have the opportunity to refine their social media marketing skills. Member Duties : The Nevada Free Taxes Coalition (NFTC) seeks to enhance its volunteer engagement and service outreach by focusing on four key objectives: volunteer recruitment, service promotion, volunteer management, and retention. NFTC VISTA members will research best practices in collaboration with Nevada Volunteers Volunteer Generation Fund staff to develop effective strategies for volunteer recruitment, management, and retention. Activities include creating digital and print recruitment materials, conducting outreach, and maintaining engaging social media content. VISTA Members will also produce promotional materials and newsletters to inform the community about NFTC services. Additionally, they will establish organization-wide policies for volunteer management and retention, implement recognition initiatives such as milestone awards and an annual Volunteer Recognition Event, and ensure sustainable volunteer engagement through regular evaluations and updated processes.
