INTERNAL ONLY - INTERIM ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL FOR SCIO SCHOOL DISTRICT 95C - INTERNAL ONLY FOR THE REST OF 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR SCIO SCHOOL DISTRICT PAYS PERS MIN & MAX STARTING SALARY - $108,842.00 - $128,433.00 BASED ON EXPERIENCE PRINCIPAL Reports to Superintendent QUALIFICATIONS Administrators License GENERAL FUNCTION OF THE PRINCIPAL The Principal shall be the administrative authority of the school, within the limits of the law, Board policy and regulations, and delegation of responsibility from the Superintendent. The Principal is responsible for a thorough knowledge of all laws, policies, regulations, and instructions and supervisory activities which occur in the building; including the coordination of the work of head teachers, clerical personnel, custodians, nurse and all other who work in relationship to the school and the teachers. The Principal shall be responsible for the administration of school policies, rules, and regulations in the school and for making available to staff a knowledge of such policies, rules and regulations, as they are enacted by the Board or formulated by the District administration. The Principal shall keep the Superintendent fully informed and advised as to the condition of the school. The principal is responsible for detailed organization of the school, the assignment of duties of staff members under supervision, and the administration of the instructional program. SPECIFIC DUTIES OF THE PRINCIPAL The Principal shall submit evaluations of teachers, as per the District evaluation plan forms. The Principal shall assist in development of a school budget and keep such business records and forms as may be required. The Principal shall be responsible for the administration of a system of accounting for all monies for student activities, student fees, or fines. This shall be done according to an established plan and carried out with the advice from the district. The Principal shall be responsible for requesting supplies, equipment and other materials and services for eh safe and efficient operation of the building, throughout the District Office. The Principal shall organize a school calendar for building use and file a copy with the Superintendent's Office The Principal shall be responsible to fully advise District staff as to the condition of needs of the school. The Principal shall maintain an open-door policy in the office for both the students, faculty, and community. The Principal shall be punctual in submitting reports to the Superintendent when requested to do so. The Principal shall assume the responsibility for improvement of instruction in the building by encouraging teacher participation in curriculum development projects, classes, workshops and conferences. The Principal shall leave someone in charge when absent from school. The Principal shall handle all complaints from patrons or parents which affect the school, investigate these complaints, and refer to the Superintendent all cases, which he cannot resolve satisfactorily. Building administration has the direct responsibility of the supervising and evaluations of classified personnel. The Principal should attend conferences and workshops for the improvement of instruction with the Superintendents permission Takes all reasonable precautions to provide for the health and safety of the students and protect equipment, materials and facilities. Immediately report information regarding abuse of any kind to the appropriate administrator or social service agency. Be responsible for district keys as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Collaborate with others to fulfill responsibilities related to building and district values, mission, priorities, and outcomes. Initiate and/or support ideas which contribute to the excellence of building and district programs. Participate in cooperative planning with colleagues and/or community. Support school/district values, mission, priorities and outcomes and assume a pro active role in achieving them. Work harmoniously with colleagues Consistently use positive and effective communication with students and staff. Communicate in an open, direct and proactive manner. Provide a monthly written Board report of school related items for board packets. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT 220 day contractual position with wages, and benefits to be determined by the Board of Directors. Obtain a criminal history background check. Knowledge of basic district operations and procedures.
