Position Overview: Graduate content specialists are trained to work with students and tutors both one-on-one and in small groups. Graduate content specialists interact purposefully with members of the Pace student body in order to develop successful independent learners. Graduate content specialists interact with tutors to provide content training, develop support materials, and review visit notes. The Peer Content Tutor will: * Conduct one-on-one or small group scheduled and walk-in sessions with students from the Pace community. * Maintain detailed appointment reflections after each tutoring session. * Attend and engage in ongoing trainings, assessments, and meetings. * Undergo observations by Learning Commons Staff and conduct observations of student tutors. * Facilitate exam reviews, classroom visits, and Learning Commons events * Perform administrative tasks as needed/requested * Work on projects and other delegated duties to advocate and support the Learning Commons. * Develop learning resources for students and faculty * Research materials to support the tutoring staff * Respond to email requests in a timely manner * Utilize Learning Commons SharePoint page * Conduct weekly content training sessions with peer tutors and lead content trainings in related areas * Aid in the development and revision of content support materials * Report updates and concerns to Content Manager * Log information into TracCloud for all tutoring and training sessions * Work with Content Manager to review tutor notes * Maintain exceptional level of professionalism with students, staff, and faculty * Assist in operational functions of the center as needed * GPA of 3.4 or higher within the completion of the undergraduate degree (3.5 preferred). * Advanced computer skills related to the relevant subject matter to be tutored * Ability to communicate and interact with people of all ages and backgrounds * Previous tutoring experience preferred * Ability to adjust approaches to different learning styles * Must be able to handle confidential information in a discreet manner * Reliable and patient with visitors
