Description

• Ensure the entire workplace (including employees) follows the industry, state, and other company-related guidelines or rules.
• Conduct safety audits of the workplace and facility.
• Implement initiatives to reduce the level of work-related accidents and/or occupational hazards.
• Direct and supervise the general safety guidelines and procedures of Horizon Environmental.
• Assist in managing doctor visits for employees and working with workers’ compensation claims should one occur.
• Investigate accidents to find the root cause and take care of employees’ compensation.
• Inspect and/or monitor employees' daily operations to ensure they follow safety policies and laws.
• Inspect and check company equipment and machinery to make sure they are not in unsafe conditions.
• Report back to the Safety Professional regarding safety adjustments that may be required to be made within the company.
• Participate in customer safety audits of the company and act as the organization’s representative.
• Actively support and promote Company safety and health programs and activities.
• Attend Client driven safety meetings.
• Other duties not listed above.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and hot, cold, or wet environments.
• Physically capable of standing, shoveling, and performing other types of physical work for long periods.
• Ability to Work with hazardous materials including fumes and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials.
• Capable of working long shifts under adverse conditions (up to 16 hours a day, and up to 14 days in a row).
• Medically and physically capable of wearing a respirator while performing the above-listed work.
• Must be accessible by phone.
• Must be On Call 24/7.
• Ability to report to work within one hour of receiving a call to work.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Must earn satisfactory results from a background/ employment history investigation and drug screening.
• OSHA 30
• 40-hr HAZWOPER preferred but not required.

• Pay - $20 - $25 per hour depending on experience and certifications
