Administrative Intern - Summer 2025 Paid Position: $15.38/hour The McLean County Administrator's Office is searching for a student majoring in political science, public administration, human resources, or other business-related disciplines to apply for this paid internship opportunity. This is an administrative entry-level, educational position. The Administrative Intern performs a variety of functions under the direction and supervision of the County Administrator and Human Resources team. Responsibilities * Review transactions, documents, and reports for accuracy * Assists in writing instructions, procedures, guides, and manuals to describe and improve administrative, technological, and operational methods and systems * Effectively utilizes the capabilities and functions of standard office software applications such as data management, spreadsheet, presentation, word processing, graphics, and communications in completing assigned projects * Assist with the maintenance of employee information portal * May perform a wide variety of paraprofessional, technical and clerical tasks during peak workload periods or in the absence of assigned personnel * Other administrative tasks as assigned * Students will have the opportunity to apply basic statistical and management analysis techniques or, with detailed instructions, advanced statistical and management techniques in analyzing data. * Candidates should be self-motivated and come with technical writing skills and the ability to think in a process-oriented, analytical fashion. In addition, candidates must have knowledge and comfort with Excel formulas and working across spreadsheets. Suggested Training and Experience Junior or senior standing in a baccalaureate degree program from a college or university or recognized standing with coursework in public administration, political science, human resources, business management, or a related field.
