About the Role Ontra is seeking Software Engineering Interns for our 2025 summer intern cohort. For this job, we are currently only hiring for our engineering offices in San Francisco, California and Santa Barbara, California. Relocation assistance will not be provided. Interns are expected to work from their assigned office location two days per week. We're looking for someone excited to collaborate with an innovative engineering team, design seamless full stack features, and drive their successful deployment. What You'll Do * Feature Development: Collaborate with application engineers to design and implement full stack web app features using Ruby on Rails and React. * Agile Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional partners in an agile environment to ensure timely and efficient progress on projects. * Code Reviews: Exchange insightful feedback through code reviews, enhancing the quality and robustness of the application. * Team Coordination: Work closely within a small team to align goals and deliverables, fostering efficient project execution. * Skill Enhancement: Continuously improve programming skills by staying updated with new technologies and best practices in the industry. What You'll Bring * Education: You are currently enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited college or university and have completed at least the equivalent of 3 years of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science OR actively pursuing a Masters degree in Computer Science. * Programming Skills: Familiarity with at least one object-oriented programming language. * Problem-Solving Skills: Able to identify issues and develop efficient solutions throughout the software development process. Eligibility We are currently considering candidates with the following expected graduation dates: * Undergraduate programs: May 2025 through June 2026. * Graduate programs: Up to June 2027 Additionally, you must be available to work full-time throughout the duration of the internship program.
