Position Summary
The Assistant Administrator is responsible for the leadership and effective management of all correctional operations and services within the Division of Juvenile Corrections.
This executive position is expected to assist in establishing the Division's vision and mission; set clear goals and objectives to ensure the alignment and/or development of the Division's organizational and administrative systems to support the Division's mission.
This position will also evaluate progress toward desired outcomes; build an organizational culture that supports the attainment of desired outcomes; secure the resources needed for successful implementation of the Division's mission and ensure that those resources are managed effectively and efficiently.
In addition, this position will establish and maintain relations with other departments, agencies, organizations, the community, and other stakeholders.
This position influences and develops public policy that supports the Division's mission and develops a competent and diverse senior-level staff to ensure that the vision, mission, and goals of the division and department are achieved.
Salary Information
This Career Executive position is in pay schedule and range 81-01 with a starting pay of $106,558 - $129,417 per year. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A two-year Career Executive trial period will be required, or for those with permanent status as a Career Executive, a twelve-month probationary period may be required instead.

Job Details
This position may allow occasional remote work but will normally be on site.
Anticipated standard schedule will be Monday - Friday 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM. This position is FLSA Exempt. This position will travel frequently across the state.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:
* Defining and setting priorities/objectives and directing resources for a work unit
* Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. local law enforcement, local governments, etc.)
* Leading cross-divisional and/or cross-agency workgroups or project teams.
In addition to the minimum qualifications, well-qualified applicants will have experience:
* Managing programs within a juvenile justice, probation, or a correctional setting
* Overseeing evidenced-based strategies, practices, and programs
* Supervising staff including: hiring, assigning/directing work, evaluating performance, etc.
