Schedule 8:30 AM-5:30 PM Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY The Experimental Division is seeking an early-career Optical Engineer to help design, build, and conduct laboratory experiments exploring laser-material interactions. The innovative and resourceful candidate that is hired will perform programmatic research and development using wide range of targets, lasers, and optical diagnostics to conduct these experiments. RESPONSIBLITIES: Support the operation of existing and newly acquired equipment and instrumentation for laser physics experiments Design, build, and field optical set-ups that include lasers, vacuum systems, targets, and interferometric diagnostics Work in an environment with a visible and audible laser amplifier operating at both single shot and constant 10Hz rep rates.
