Position Summary: The Quality Control Technician is responsible for control of incoming materials and measuring and test equipment. Major Duties and Responsibilities: * Approve incoming materials by confirming compliance to specifications, conducting visual examination, and/or measuring characteristics * Reject and quarantine unacceptable materials * Perform detailed measurements and examinations using precision tools and equipment, such as CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and gauges * Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements to verify product conformance * Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of quality control activities, including non-conformances and corrective actions * Initiate, track, and complete nonconformance reports * Coordinate operation of the calibration management system * Maintain the index of calibrated instruments * Recall instruments for calibration * Coordinate with outside calibration laboratories, calibration service providers, and the maintenance organization to complete calibrations on time * Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and initiate corrective action * Maintain copies of calibration certificates in system of record * Prepare periodic reports of calibration status * Develop and maintain quality control procedures and work instructions * Other projects as assigned Position Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: * Associate's Degree in a relevant field OR combination of technical certification and two years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the position. * Experience in performing detailed reviews of quality documentation to ensure compliance with Centrus and customer requirements * Experience using precision measurement tools and equipment, such as CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and gauges * Basic understanding of statistical techniques applicable to inspection * Basic understanding of quality management system requirements and related documentation * Experience in the preparation of QA procedures for review, approval, and issuance in accordance with requirements and/or standards. * Candidate must be able to work independently and in a team environment. This person will interface with the quality control team and the manufacturing plant * Strong oral and written communication skills * Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and document non-conformities accurately * Proficient in using computer applications, including Microsoft Office, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and quality control software * Must possess or be able to obtain a DOE Q-level security clearance Desired Qualifications: * Associate's degree in a related field, such as quality assurance, engineering, or manufacturing. * Certification in quality control or related discipline (e.g., Certified Quality Technician, ASQ certification). * Experience leading and supporting quality assessments, surveillances, and/or audits. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test. In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require a preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a DOE security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government.
