Posting Number 0801446 Classification Title Post Doctoral Researcher, Exercise Science Working Title Department College of Engineering, Science, Technology and Agriculture Department Contact Email kcarter2@centralstate.edu Job Summary/Basic Function POSITION SUMMARY: The Exercise Science program, in the Department of Agriculture Research Development Program, in the College of Science and Engineering at Central State University is seeking a post-doctoral researcher (post doc) to work on research projects related to biomechanics and ergonomics in agriculture. The selected candidate is expected to have expertise in one or more areas including movement analysis, health and injury management, biomechanics, and ergonomics. The selected candidate will be responsible to perform research experiments, data collection, and field operation. The selected candidate will also assist supervisor with report preparation, data analysis, and manuscript writing. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently or in a team of internal and external collaborators to achieve the project objectives. The candidate is also expected to supervise undergraduate researchers engaged in the research. The candidate must be proficient in research design, data collection and data analysis in biomechanics or ergonomics related area. The position involves travel to meetings with partners, collaborators, and selected study sites for data collection, and attending national and regional conferences. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develop projects to measure human physical movements. * Develop alternative human physical movements which assist in mitigating injury risk. * Design experiments to apply and test resolutions for movement issues that occur during agriculture production. * Travel to the field and perform movement assessments on site. * Conduct meetings with PIs, team members, partners and other collaborators to report progress, coordinate tasks, share research data and results * Prepare and maintain the research equipment. * Mentor undergraduate students * Attend national and regional conferences * Write and edit technical reports, manuscripts, and grant proposals * Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor Minimum Qualifications * Ph.D. in kinesiology, biomechanics, exercise science, or related field. Ph.D. must be completed at the time of appointment. * Demonstrated skills in movement assessment, data collection, and analysis.
