Schedule 8:30 AM-5:30 PM Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The NSF-OPAL team at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics seeks a Senior Optical Engineer to support the design of NSF OPAL, a new state-of-the art laser user facility with two new 25-PW lasers coupled to OMEGA EP to achieve and study extreme physical conditions. The candidate will be help evolve this project from conceptual design to final design. This position is in the Compression and Transport sub-system, involving the conditioning, transport, focusing, and diagnosis of meter-scale beams.
