About Ibu Movement:

Ibu Movement is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women artisans worldwide by providing them with a marketplace to showcase their handcrafted goods. We celebrate cultural heritage and sustainable practices while fostering economic self-sufficiency among women in over 40 countries. Our mission is to elevate women's voices preserving cultural heritage and skills through the art of their hands while crating contemporary designs that appeal to a global audience.



Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Designer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing unique product designs and collections that reflect the rich cultural heritage of our artisan partners while aligning with our brand values.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Create original designs for clothing, accessories, and home goods that honor the craftsmanship of our artisan partners.
  • Curate collections following fashion season

· Develop and maintain relationships with artisan cooperatives

· Search and develop new artisan cooperatives

  • Work closely with artisans to understand their techniques and materials, ensuring designs are feasible and marketable
  • Stay updated on design trends and consumer preferences to inform product development.

· Collaborate with purchasing manager to create the collections, select styles, quantities, etc.

· Oversee quality control and implement sustainable practices throughout the supply chain



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in product design, preferably in the fashion.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design skills and creativity.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices is a plus.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

· Excellent cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, proactive, hands on, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

· Experience working in or with non-profit organizations, preferably in the global development or artisan sector.

· Commitment to the mission and values of Ibu Foundation.
