Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. Our Baltimore, MD office is seeking a Commercial Diver / Technician. As the successful inspection diver, you will be working with a professional engineering dive team that provides consulting services to clients locally (minimal overnight travel required) and around the world (travel as desired). The principal function of this position is to be part of a team that evaluates transportation and marine structures through above and underwater engineering inspections.

Duties and responsibilities:
* Conduct underwater and topside structural inspections in a team environment and assist in supervision of site investigations as needed
* Identify elements, analyze deterioration according to appropriate standards, assess remaining sections, and report findings in a diligent manner
* Assist with the preparation to mobilize dive equipment, inspect and maintain dive equipment as directed and manage overall condition of the dive locker as needed
* Monitor equipment and procedures to ensure compliance with safety procedures
* Research and prepare safety and field documents prior to field work
* Prepare or assist in preparation of reports including data entry, text writing and photo editing post field work
* Drive trucks over 10,000 lbs., tow trailers, and operate vessels as platforms to safely facilitate structural inspections
* Maintain personal diving records and ensure proper filing for company reference
* Communicate regularly with other professionals and departments for best practices at each job site
* Work collaboratively with the equipment managers
* Performs other duties as required

Qualifications:
* ADCI or equivalent dive certification including: HSE, DCBC, IMCA and ADAS
* 2 to 6 years of related diving and structural inspection experience
* Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges FHWA-NHI-130055 and Underwater Bridge Inspection FHWA-NHI-130091 preferred
* NHI/NBIS Team Leader, is a plus
* Prior experience related to equipment or mechanical maintenance preferred
* Construction inspection or general construction experience a plus
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Software proficiency with Microsoft products
* Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as required. Most travel is local and does not require overnight stays
* Valid driver's license in good standing
* Boater Safety Card preferred
* Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
* Current First Aid, CPR, and Emergency Oxygen Provider certification required
* Selected candidate must consent to and a pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug screening
* All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions:
The incumbent works in both the office and field:
* Office work requires ongoing reporting work requiring focus
* Field work requires diving in waters and exposure to extreme elements
* Must be able to move among a variety of simultaneous priorities
* Some extended days, evenings, and weekend work requirements
* Some travel is required
Physical requirements:
This role requires the incumbent to be in excellent physical condition:
* Commercial diving requires specific physical conditioning and strength
* Field work requires incumbent to carry heavy equipment over unpaved, rural, and unmarked terrain
* The incumbent must be able to lift, carry, climb, and navigate in a small boat
