Position Overview:

The Freddie Mac Infrastructure Architecture team is seeking a Senior Technical Lead to provide leadership and oversight associated with infrastructure architecture in partnership with engineering and operations!

Our Impact:

  • Design and implement comprehensive IT infrastructure architectures that meet business requirements

  • Develop and maintain technical roadmaps

  • Ensure the security, compliance, and governance of infrastructure architectures

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize infrastructure projects

  • Conduct research and stay up-to-date on emerging trends and technologies

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance

  • Develop and maintain documentation of infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures


Your Impact:

  • Collaborate with other Infrastructure Architects to assure that the Freddie Mac environments are aligned with strategic vision, roadmap, principles, and guidelines and can enable software engineering teams and solution architects to deliver on business outcomes

  • Define and implement Reference architecture patterns which will be leveraged by development teams

  • Be a leader through transformation into Agile Architecture and align with the Modern Delivery methodology within Freddie Mac

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required; Advanced degree preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in Infrastructure architecture, design and implementation for a financial services organization

  • 3+ years of relevant large-scale enterprise transformation experience as relates to architecture is preferred

  • Prior experience in the primary or secondary mortgage industry is desirable

  • Strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

  • Experience with storage systems (SAN, NAS) and backup/recovery solutions

  • Deep knowledge of various enterprise level Platforms widely used in the industry

  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure)

  • Strong experience with virtualization technologies (VMware)

  • Strong experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes)

  • Tech Certifications desirable (AWS, Azure, CNCF, TOGAF, etc)

  • Hands-on and architectural experience with these is required in this role.

  • Experience with AI/ML and GenAI Basics

  • Technical and Architectural leadership with knowledge of both legacy and modern cloud based distributed systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to succinctly present complex subject matter, specifically translating technology problems/solutions to business partners

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $179,000 - $269,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
