The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking applicants for an Undergraduate Research Assistant (RA) position. The selected individual will work closely with a professor on research focused on sensor design, simulation, fabrication, and testing.
$18/hour starting January 2025
Responsibilities include developing and following an approved research plan with clear, measurable objectives.
The RA will have the opportunity to learn about medical flow rate sensors, including their design, testing methodologies, data collection, and analysis. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of posters and drafting scientific papers and presentations for potential submission to conferences.
This role requires strong teamwork, effective communication skills, and a proactive approach to research tasks. It is an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge research while enhancing their technical and professional skills.Must be a current UVU undergraduate student in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or Physics. Student must be academically in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Undergraduate students in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Previous experience in undergraduate engineering/physics research. Prior data gathering and analysis experience. Experience with instrumentation tools.
* Knowledge of basic principles and practice of electrical engineering and Physics.
* Ability to learn and apply basic scientific principles.
* Ability to perform undergraduate research in engineering.
* General knowledge of mathematics beyond calculus.
* Ability to use ANSYS electronic desktop, PCB software like KiCad/Altium, 3D solid modeling software.
* Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form with faculty and others from various cultural backgrounds.
