Boundless (Boundless.org) is an award-winning ministry of Focus on the Family with the goal of helping young adults navigate adulthood, own their faith, date with purpose and prepare for marriage and family. Through articles, a group blog, a weekly podcast/radio program and the power of community, we challenge 20- and 30-somethings to live biblically and intentionally in all things. As an intern in the Young Adults department, you will assist in growing the reach and audience of Boundless by pitching the ministry, podcast and experts to aligned platforms, ministries and events. Responsibilities - What does a day in the life look like? * Conduct relevant research, audience polling and/or marketing related to young adults and associated projects * Pitch the Boundless show and experts for other young adult podcasts, ministries, churches or colleges * Research upcoming aligned events or speaking opportunities * Work to increase earned media and non-paid promotion * Work on creating and curating a press kit * Build a list of future possible partnerships and unrealized audiences * Create and edit short videos * Assist in the creation and management of social media posts and pages (Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube) * Participate as a guest on the show as needed * Manage details assigned in any event planning, speaker booking or similar as requested by director Goals - What do we want you to learn and grow in? * Gain experience in public relations, writing media pitches, and marketing for the Boundless ministry * Build a portfolio of short form videos, written pieces or other content creation * Receive direct coaching on public relations, writing and media strategy * Be a showcased voice on an international podcast * Work and network with well-known producers, editors, church leaders and event planners Experience - What are we looking for in a candidate? * Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or similar major * Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication * Familiarity with AP Style * Ability to project a professional and persuasive persona to outside vendors, guests and others * Familiarity with working on a website and/or content management system; proficiency in WordPress a plus * Proficient in the creative use of all social media platforms * Experience with video creation and editing preferred * Proficient in photo editing (Photoshop, Canva, etc.) * Organized and able to juggle multiple projects at once As a non-profit ministry, Focus on the Family is committed to hiring staff who are dedicated to sharing the gospel and live by biblical truths. There will be no compensation or pay with this position, but a $3500 honorarium, workday lunch, and housing for out-of-town students will be provided.
