Conservative Columnist Remote Based position, located in Alabama Alabama Media Group seeks an established political voice to provide thoughtful conservative commentary on state and national issues. The ideal candidate will offer nuanced analysis that elevates public discourse while engaging constructively with diverse viewpoints. We are looking for someone who can build trust with readers through well-researched, principled commentary that reflects a deep understanding of Alabama's political landscape. The base salary range is $75,000 to $80,000 per year. Key Responsibilities: * Produce regular columns analyzing political developments through a conservative lens * Develop original insights on policy issues affecting Alabama and the South * Engage with readers through broadcast, social media and community events * Participate in multimedia content creation, including podcasts and video commentary * Maintain high standards of factual accuracy and intellectual integrity Requirements: * Degree in journalism, political science, or related field or equivalent education and work experience in journalism reporting and writing * Minimum of eight years of journalism experience with a record of political commentary or journalism * Demonstrated ability to craft compelling, well-reasoned arguments * Deep knowledge of Alabama politics, history, and culture * Strong network of political and community contacts * Excellent research and fact-checking skills * Comfort with multimedia platforms and public speaking * Relevant experience in political writing or commentary This job requires reliable transportation to meet with sources or cover events.
