Job Summary: Uvalde Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring the functionality and safety of our medical equipment. The Biomedical Technician will be responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of biomedical devices in compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: * Perform scheduled maintenance, testing, and calibration of medical equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency. * Troubleshoot and repair biomedical devices in a timely manner to minimize downtime. * Conduct inspections and verify equipment compliance with applicable safety and performance standards. * Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. * Provide technical support to clinical staff regarding the proper use and care of medical equipment. * Stay updated on advancements in biomedical technology and integrate knowledge into daily tasks. * Assist with the inventory and replacement cycle for medical equipment. * Ensure adherence to hospital policies, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory standards. Qualifications: * Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology required. * Certification as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) is preferred. * Two years of experience in biomedical equipment repair and maintenance in a healthcare setting preferred. * Strong technical skills and knowledge of biomedical devices and systems. * Proficiency in troubleshooting electronic, mechanical, and computer-based systems. * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
