Title: Education Librarian Agency: ACADEMIC AFFAIRS Location: Norfolk, VA FLSA: Hiring Range: Full Time or Part Time: Additional Detail Job Description: The Education Librarian develops and delivers library and research support to faculty, students, administrators, staff, and others in the Darden College of Education and Professional Studies and/or other academic departments as needed. Duties include providing research assistance, instruction, collection development support, and assistance with scholarly communication to academic departments. The Librarian serves as the subject specialist and primary contact person between the Libraries and departments, programs, and research centers to which they are assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Additional Considerations: * Graduate or undergraduate coursework or degree in education or a discipline related to the programs offered by the Darden College of Education & Professional Studies * Considerable experience working in an academic library * Considerable experience teaching in a library environment, including planning and evaluating instruction to gauge effectiveness * Basic experience identifying and meeting research needs of library users * Considerable demonstrated understanding of current issues in academic communication and publishing
