Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Common Data Element (CDE) Curator to join our team. The CDE Curator will play a critical role in ensuring the standardization and consistency of data across multiple studies. This role involves managing and curating standardized questions and variables (CDEs) used to collect data, ensuring alignment with established guidelines, and contributing to the improvement of data quality for research and clinical studies. Key Responsibilities: * Develop CDEs: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including researchers, data scientists, and clinical experts, to identify and develop CDEs tailored to specific research domains. Maintain data dictionary, metadata schemas, and controlled vocabularies to facilitate data discovery and interoperability. * Curation and Standardization: Standardize, annotate, and classify biomedical data using relevant ontologies, metadata standards, and classification systems. * Data Consistency: Ensure that CDEs are used consistently across studies, enhancing the comparability and reusability of data. * Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including researchers, data scientists, and clinical experts, to identify and develop CDEs tailored to specific research domains. * Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of CDEs, including definitions, allowable responses, and metadata, ensuring clarity for users. * Consensus Building: Participate in consensus-building activities to select and update discipline-specific CDEs, ensuring alignment with current best practices and standards. * Quality Assurance: Review and validate the implementation of CDEs in research tools and platforms to ensure data accuracy and integrity. * Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to researchers on the use of CDEs, promoting their adoption and correct usage in research projects. Responsibilities Your Skills & Experience: * Must have experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data entry and analysis * Experience with data curation, data management, or research methodologies. * Familiarity with scripting tools like R/Python for data processing and transformation, as well as data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI * Knowledge of database systems * Ability to work in a collaborative environment, engaging with experts across different disciplines. * Excellent written and verbal communication * Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail * Excellent organizational and time management skills * Flexible, collaborative, and able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously while working independently Set Yourself Apart With: * Demonstrated passion to learn the science and practice of data curation * Familiarity with clinical trials, research protocols, or registry-based studies * Familiarity with data collection systems and databases used in research or clinical settings. * Knowledge of standard classifications and vocabularies * Experience with data mining, biomedical databases and data integration * Demonstrated ability to query databases * Customer service and/or stakeholder management experience * Familiarity with AGILE methodology and principles * Passionate about working in a dynamic fast-paced environment with shifting priorities * Strong desire to support public scientific databases * Passionate about open science and collaboration Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Information Management, Public Health, or Life Sciences. Advanced degree preferred. * Experience with data curation, data management, or research methodologies. * Familiarity with clinical trials, research protocols, or registry-based studies. * Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail. * Ability to work in a collaborative environment, engaging with experts across different disciplines. * Experience with data standards and data harmonization practices is a plus. Preferred Skills: * Knowledge of CDE development processes and standards. * Familiarity with data collection systems and databases used in research or clinical settings. * Understanding of regulatory and ethical considerations related to data sharing and standardization. Raise and communicate questions or concerns pertaining to the CDE development. Additional information Pay Range: $100,000 - $180,000 The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Publicis Sapient. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work itself.
