About the internship
The Texas Instruments (TI) Government Relations team represents the company on important public policy issues around the world, before Congress and the Administration, and state governments across the country. The Government Relations Team works with business units to advance their policy agendas and support their business priorities and works with legislators, government officials, business partners and trade associations to advance the policy interests of the company.
This role is responsible for supporting TI's Government Relations team in monitoring and analyzing regulations, legislation and policy issues that can impact TI's global business operations
The internship is a paid, 10-12 week position over the summer, located in Washington DC.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in monitoring regulations, legislation, negotiations and other policy issues that can impact TI's global business and operations.
* Work with TI Government Relations team to attend briefings, hearings and seminars in order to strategically apprise senior managers of relevant policy developments.
* Analyze key reports and provide concise summaries.
* Participate in key trade association meetings/calls to advance TI's priorities.
* Provide support to the TI Government Relations team as necessary to develop recommendations and solutions to key policy issues.
§ Minimum Requirements:
* Current student in an advanced degree program- Law or Master's degree- in a related policy field
* Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA
* Preferred Qualifications:
* Basic knowledge of technology policy issues and/or semiconductor industry
* Excellent and persuasive written, oral and presentation communications skills. Can communicate effectively at all levels.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
* Self-starter, who takes the initiative, solves problems, adapts to changing circumstances and acts with urgency.
* Quick study; ability to adapt skills and new policy challenges.
