We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's student body as a Lecturer of Anthropology beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. The department seeks a candidate to support expanded offerings of our core courses, particularly on the Brownsville campus. The successful candidate will be able to teach introductory-level courses in anthropology, specifically Introduction to Archaeology, World Prehistory, and Human Evolution, and, possibly, upper-division courses in the candidate's sub-field of specialization.

Department/CollegeBackground
The Department of Anthropology offers undergraduate majors and minors in Anthropology with additional concentrations in Archaeology and in Global Health and Migration, and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. Minimum Qualifications
1) M.A. in Anthropology (or related field), 2) demonstrated ability to teach courses in archaeology and human evolution, 3) demonstrated potential for teaching excellence using multiple delivery modes.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
18 credit hours or more of graduate level work in Anthropology.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Anthropology with degree conferred by September 1, 2025. Preference will be given to candidates with a record of innovative teaching techniques, including service-learning and community engagement, and to those already holding a Ph.D.
