You'll play a crucial role in transforming hand sketches and preliminary layouts into comprehensive engineering drawing packages, while also mentoring junior staff and ensuring project accuracy and efficiency. If you're passionate about precision and thrive in a collaborative environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you! * CAD Drafting: Perform CAD drafting of engineering designs and preparation of final engineering plans. * CAD Expertise: Serve as the resident CAD expert for the team with the ability to provide training and guidance to employees and CAD users. * Production Management: Manage the production process to include research, and completing the technical design tasks to result in high-quality deliverables to internal and external clients. * Construction Document Preparation: Assist in preparing construction documents for public and/or private public works infrastructure projects (i.e., street, highway, drainage, water, and sanitary sewer improvements) from conceptual design to final design, under the direction and supervision of a professional engineer. * Communication and Relationships: Establish good communication and working relationships with team members and clients. What You Bring: * High school diploma/GED * Associate's or technical degree, a plus or combination of education and experience * Minimum 4 years of experience in CAD drafting or related work * Extensive knowledge of CAD software * Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing), using the English language * Fundamental working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat * AutoCAD Civil 3D and Basic ArcGIS experience, a plus We Are S&ME: At S&ME, we've spent over 50 years providing innovative solutions in geotechnical, civil, environmental, and construction materials disciplines.
