JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Material Requirements Planning Controller will ensure on-time deliveries of purchased components/raw materials from 3rd Party Suppliers in support of the Manufacturing/Sales plan. The Controller is also responsible to maintain the date integrity of the MRP system as well as communicate and interact with the Material Planners to resolve delivery problems relating to the suppliers assigned.
Essential Functions
- Internal communication and feedback to planners and manufacturing personnel as to delivery dates, delays, or problems/issues.
Attend production meetings to provide the most current delivery information while obtaining manufacturing requirements. - Communicate to suppliers any increases/decreases/scheduling alignments or changes to production requirements and assess impact to supplier(s) and manufacturing.
- Order Processing: Placing Purchase Orders, Rescheduling Orders, Confirmations, Invoice reconciliation,
- Decision of order quantities and due dates according to stock balance and costs (e.g., finding volume discounts where possible.
- Coordinate with Supplier Quality to ensure disposition of defective materials.
- Inventory/Supply control about raw materials, material committed or MIT/WIP.
- Visit supplier’s facilities to aid in the implementation of programs with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and reduced lead time.
- Position may require occasional travel to address and resolve supplier issues.
Skills
Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP Preferred), Excel, Word, and purchasing practices.
Education
Associates Degree
Experience
3-5+ years of relevant Material Requirements Planning, manufacturing processes of commodities assigned
