Job Title: Pilot Plant Operator, 3rd Shift and 1st shift availability Must have experience with: * Caustic and hot environment (acids) * Experience/comfort level working with high heat and high pressure equipment. * Experience operating process equipment (pumps, mixers, heaters, filters)? Job Description Support team's units by operating pilot plant scale equipment. Assemble and modify equipment according to plans and direction from team. Maintain working areas of the pilot plant. Process raw rock materials for experiments. Handle strong acids and bases according to the needs of the test plan. Validate and troubleshoot operational parameters from test plans. Assist with preventative maintenance tasks. Record and manage measurements during experiments in premade Excel templates. Collaborate and work with teammates synergistically. Responsibilities * Operate pilot plant scale equipment. * Assemble and modify equipment as per plans and team direction. * Maintain the pilot plant working areas. * Process raw rock materials for experiments. * Handle strong acids and bases as per test plan requirements. * Validate and troubleshoot operational parameters from test plans. * Assist with preventative maintenance tasks. * Record and manage measurements during experiments using premade Excel templates. * Collaborate and work synergistically with teammates. Essential Skills * Chemical knowledge * Troubleshooting skills * Bachelor's degree in a sciences field, preferably Chemistry * 2+ years of experience in a plant or startup operating environment * Ability to operate process equipment (e.g., pumps, mixers, heaters, and filters) after training * Ability to operate mechanical equipment (e.g., crushing, pressing) after training * Basic mathematical calculation skills * Comfortable lifting and moving up to 40 pounds of materials without assistance * Strong commitment to work safety * Experience in a machine shop or laboratory environment * Attention to detail and safety awareness * Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Suite, Slack, and Google products Additional Skills & Qualifications * Experience in Chemistry preferred * Experience working with process and mechanical equipment Work Environment Onsite in West Oakland. 3rd shift hours are from 8pm to 8am, Monday to Thursday. The position is located in the pilot plant. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
