General Summary Of Duties:

The Security Field Training Officer (FTO) will function as the trainer for all newly hired Security Officers and will serve as the immediate supervisor during training. The Field Training Officer will also assist the Security Training Manager in continuous training of all security team members, assists with Training Records Management and the enforcement of security policies and procedures. The Field Training Officer is assigned duties as a Security Officer when not actively training.

Qualifications

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

  1. Coordinate and deliver various training, as guided by the Security Training Manager, to develop newly hired Security team members.
  2. Assist the Security Training Manager in continuous training of all security team members.
  3. Assist the Security Training Manager with maintaining Individual Training Records.
  4. Complete necessary documentation related to job performance of newly hired Security Officers assigned to field training and submit them in a timely manner to the Security Shift Manager on Duty.
  5. Ensure each Officer follows the personal appearance standards as stated in Westgate’s policies and procedures.
  6. Conduct 30, 60 and 80-day assessments of the new hires to evaluate retention of training and performance.
  7. Provide remedial training to Security Officers, when necessary, as directed by Shift Management.
  8. Review employee handbook, policies, procedures, and lesson plans for cognizance.
  9. Enforce Security Policies and Procedures.
  10. Report any unsafe conditions to the Security Shift Manager on Duty.
  11. Forward complaints from guests and employees to the Security Shift Manager on Duty
  12. Understand scene management, preliminary investigation and report writing techniques.
  13. Understand proper telephone etiquette and conduct dispatches to the appropriate areas.
  14. Attend and participate in pre-shift meetings to receive instructions and information regarding internal property concerns.
  15. Record training hours using clock-in/clock-out procedures and report hours to the Security Training Manager.
  16. Assess the performance of the Trainee and make appropriate suggestions, if needed, to bring the performance to the required standards.
  17. The FTO must / will be a role model to the trainee and lead by example. The FTO's attitude and behavior must be beyond reproach, and the FTO must follow all company and department policies and procedures to ensure proper training.
  18. The FTO performs all duties of the Security Officer as needed.
  19. Continually evaluate Security Officers for alertness, appearance, and proper performance of their duties.
  20. Address policy violations to Security Officers and ensure they understand the correct procedures.
  21. Perform all duties as a Security Officer, reporting to the Security Shift Manager, when not assigned duties of a Field Training Officer.
  22. The FTO is expected to address policy violations of any officer, to ensure they understand the correct procedures. The FTO is the subject matter expert.
  23. The FTO will provide remedial training to Security Officers, when necessary, as directed by Security management.

    Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

    Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language clearly to ascertain and document important information, to follow written and/or verbal instructions, to provide clear direction/guidance, and to communicate with others.

    Field Training Officer:

    Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of security personnel training and administration.

    Thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, and procedures of the Security Department.

    Ability to deliver high-quality training to personnel in the Security Department.

    Ability to assess individual training needs and evaluate individuals’ performance.

    Ability to communicate ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.

    Ability to enforce institutional rules firmly and fairly.

    Ability to communicate with Management in a timely and effective manner.

    Remain a dependable and positive role model to the trainee and lead by example.

    Experience Requirements

    At least three months of security experience on Westgate Las Vegas property or Casino experience.
