The Vice President of Finance will serve as the principal financial strategist, responsible for overseeing the College's financial health, ensuring compliance with regulations, and aligning resources with the institution's mission and long-term goals. As a member of the executive leadership team at the College, the Vice President of Finance will play a critical role in shaping the College's financial future and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has superior finance and accounting skills with an entrepreneurial spirit and strategic mindset.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field required; MBA or CPA preferred
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in finance and operations, preferably in higher education or non-profit environments. Proven expertise in financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and long-term planning.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial analysis, and investment strategies. Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive institutional efficiency. Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to engage diverse stakeholders. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Financial Strategy and Planning
* Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the College's mission and goals.
* Prepare and maintain long-term financial forecasts for all of the College's funds. Monitor short- and long-term internal and external financial and operational developments to ensure that forecasts are current and accurate.
* Contribute to the College meeting its strategic objectives by assisting administrators and department heads in conducting financial analysis of current and proposed activities.
* Monitor the College's financial condition and provides budget information to the President, the Board of Directors, the College community, and other governmental agencies as required. Oversee preparation of monthly financial statements for the College.
* Establish, coordinate, maintain, and systematically review the process for the financial evaluation of the College instructional programs and activities, serve as a resource to College personnel in determining the cost-effectiveness of current and proposed initiatives, and is responsible for the College's financial compliance reporting.
Budgeting & Financial Management
* Oversee the development and management of the College's annual operating and capital budgets, both short- and long-term.
* Ensure effective management of financial resources by monitoring expenditures and revenues in collaboration with TCHHN.
* Identify financial risks or opportunities early and recommend appropriate actions.
* Continuously evaluate and track financial performance in collaboration with TCHHN.
* Develop detailed financial models to forecast future financial outcomes and support strategic decision-making related to student enrollment.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the College's financial records and statements.
* Oversee the preparation of all financial and audit reports, including those required by regulatory agencies and the Board of Directors.
* Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, regulations, and College policies.
Assest Management
* Ensure proper controls are in place to maximize the efficient use of the College's assets.
* Develop and implement cash control processes that protect the College's critical financial assets.
* Provide strategic leadership on growth objectives, including setting cost-per-hour and other revenue-driven targets.
* Collaborate with TCHHN to ensure a responsible fiscal budget that meets revenue and cash flow objectives set by the organization and Board of Directors.
* Manage all aspects of financial operations in collaboration with TCHHN, including accounting, payroll, purchasing, and accounts payable/receivable.
* Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and maintain accurate and transparent financial reporting.
* Ensure resources are allocated efficiently across academic programs, administrative departments, and campus services.
Resource Management
* Oversee the application of scholarship dollars to student accounts
Operational Leadership
* Collaborate with TCHHN to ensure auxiliary services are in compliance with TCHHN processes.
* Ensure efficient management of campus financial infrastructure and resources to support academic and student life.
* Works collaboratively with other administrators and department heads; serves as an internal consultant.
* Provides leadership to assigned areas by focusing on planning and execution to help College management and the organization succeed and improve productivity, particularly by providing stakeholders with effective information, support systems, resources and business solutions.
* Creates and maintains a customer service culture, program, orientation and focus for assigned areas. Monitors departmental activities and customer satisfaction with service delivery; identifies and implements appropriate improvement measures.
Leadership and Collaboration
* Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to the overall strategic direction of the College.
* Work collaboratively with academic, administrative, and external stakeholders to ensure financial and operational decisions align with the College's mission.
* Communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial audiences, including the Board of Directors, faculty, and staff.
