THE OPPORTUNITY
Dillard's is seeking a backend developer with an interest in data analysis and machine learning to join our team. For this role, you will use Python, Kornshell, JavaScript, and SQL for developing and maintaining applications. To be successful, you should be a life-long learner who enjoys acquiring knowledge of new technologies and striving for continuous improvement.
THE TEAM
This role is on the Customer Data Science team, which uses predictive insights to analyze customer behavior, current business trends, problems, and strategies to help provide actionable insights for the company. As a member of this team, you will work with Python and SQL to develop the applications and framework needed to develop predictive models and for our analytics-driven email programs. You will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact while also furthering your skills and knowledge by utilizing a diverse set of tools.
WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU'LL
Develop a basic understanding of querying data in EDW.
Develop a basic understanding of the customer data mart.
Develop a basic understanding of our software stack.
Develop a basic understanding of our Python scripts and how to troubleshoot them.
WITHIN 2 MONTHS, YOU'LL
Be able to complete a customer analysis independently.
Develop a basic support of weekly smart emails.
Contribute ideas for new models/projects.
WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU'LL
Be able to work independently in the data warehouse and AI environment.
Be able to independently research, optimize, and maintain code.
No immigration sponsorship (ex. H-1B, TN, STEM OPT) is available for this positionCoding experience (Python)
Strong SQL skills, with a desire to become a SQL expert
Experience with large datasets and data processing
Strong self-motivation to learn new technologies
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Ability to adapt to changeModeling experience
Teradata experience
Experience with machine learning algorithms or statistical modeling
JavaScript
