This is an Internal Posting open ONLY for current North Carolina State Government employees and eligible RIF Candidates from NC State Government. To include eligible current Temporary Employees.
Agency is hiring Emergency Preparedness Logistics Officer to provide logistical oversight of the Emergency Preparedness Section. This includes logistical support for all NCDAC Special Teams to include arrangement of training schedules, lodging and other accommodations and reimbursements, equipment issue and accountability/inventories, and roster management for all teams.
This position will be assigned to the State Emergency Response Team (SERT) and will coordinate equipment needed for command posts for incident command when needed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Scheduling and planning for NCDAC Special Teams Training, to include booking locations, notifications to team members, and overseeing responsibility overseeing payments of any fees associated
* Ordering of equipment and supplies for members of NCDAC Special Teams that are required for duty situations, training, or other assignments
* Project management of any projects involving special teams and their schedules or equipment needs
* Routine inspections of different teams to verify equipment and training needs are being met as required by policy
* Participate as a member of the State Emergency Response Team (SERT) and NCDAC Incident Command as required for emergency situations or critical incidents
* Oversee the reimbursement of any NCDAC Special Teams members requiring payments for expenditures
* Maintaining oversight of rosters for ALL NCDAC Special Teams to ensure updates and supplemental pay assignments
Note: An employee in this position must be certified by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Standards Commission and possess a valid Driver's License.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

* Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of public and business administration
* Knowledge and understanding of program objectives and standards in the area of assignment
* Experience with accounting practices and procedures along with maintaining inventories, asset management, and/ or records pertaining to section needs
* Proficiency in judgment and discretion in establishing, applying, and interpreting policies and
procedures
Management Preferences (preferred but not required):
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel, officials, and the general public
* Ability to participate effectively in quality control methods and documentation of training evaluations

Bachelor's degree from appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience related to the area of assignment (OR) an equivalent combination of training and experience.
