POSITION PURPOSE Reporting to the Chief of Geology, the Senior Geologist will work with the Cooperate Resource Geologist to ensure accurate modeling and estimation of mineral resource assets. This involves coordinating teams and resources to achieve precise geological, mining, and metallurgical modeling in compliance with international standards, internal SOPs, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Senior Geologist will collaborate with the Corporate Resource Modeling team to produce resource statements and ensure accurate geological and geometallurgical modeling. This includes providing updated resource block models in alignment with the mine's planning cycle. REPORTING TO: Chief Geologist COLLABORATING WITH (Key departments, External Groups): Internal: * Work with Geology, Sampling, Mine Engineering, Geotech, Surveying, Mine Operations, Metallurgy, Exploration and Corporate Technical Services External: * Work with contractors and vendors PEOPLE REPORTING TO THIS POSITION (Name of Position): Internal: * NA POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensure model compliance with QA/QC standards. * Build and keep updated medium, short-term and ore control block models, to obtain the best predictions to ensure the models' quality. * Build and keep updated mine-to-mill block models to support geometallurgical efforts. * Evaluate alternatives to the Business Plan (Resource Development Plan or Growth case). * Reconcile the ore control, short, medium, and long-term models according to the reconciliation factors F1 and F2 and mine-to-mill reconciliation. * Ensure the traceability of the updating processes of the geological and estimation models. * Contribute to the preparation and presentation of resource modeling and estimation reports. * Determine drilling needs for the short and long term, to contribute to the accuracy of estimates and recategorization of resources, through infill campaigns. * Carry out evaluation of the impact of infill campaigns on the risk analysis and hazard recognition. * Define, implement, and evaluate resource categorization criteria. * Keep the mines' geological and geometallurcal Databases updated. * Carry out internal and external training of the rest of the teams to ensure adequate knowledge management. * Coordinate with Operations and Planning for the reconciliations of the monthly, weekly, and daily plans compliance. * Participate in the review of monthly, weekly, and daily plans. * Performs other duties as required. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Knowledge * Advanced Geo statistic. * Reconciliations factors * Geological Modeling and grade estimation to generate resource models. * Codes for reporting Resources and Reserves (NI 43-101, JORC) * Porphyry ore deposit modeling and estimation. * Advanced Database management * Software: VULCAN, MineSight, acQuire, Leapfrog Key Competencies / Skills * MS Degree in Geology, BS, or related discipline * At least seven years resources estimation in mining industry * Strong communication and teamwork skills * Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook) * Strong project management skills * Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English. WORK ENVIRONMENT 30% of the Senior Geologist's time will be spent in the field while the remaining 70% will be spent in an office environment.
