We have two internship openings as noted below. Strong preference will be given to candidates with junior or senior standing. Best-fit candidates are currently enrolled in an engineering program at a San Diego area university and must be willing to work full-time (40 hours) during the summer of 2025 AND must be willing to work 10-20 hours per week on a year-round basis (depending on students' schedule) for the 2025-26 academic year. Cohu's Vision Engineering Team designs and develops leading-edge machine vision hardware and software that utilizes vision hardware such as industrial cameras, lenses, LED illumination, and runs on semiconductor test equipment. Please identify which of these internships you are applying for, based on your education and experience. 1. Vision Software Engineering Intern: You will work with vision software engineers to design, develop, test, and modify vision software for IC test handlers, provide creative solutions as a team member to analyze/resolve vision software problems. Additional tasks will be given depending on abilities and experience. Required Education, Experience and Skills: * Currently enrolled in a BS degree in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field. * Experience with programming in C/C++ in Visual Studio environment. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS and office applications such as MS-Excel, Word, PowerPoint. * Familiarity with principles of image processing and computer vision * Experience with coding and debugging software applications in C++ and experimenting with design. * Able to develop and maintain documentation for computer vision systems Preferred Skills: * Programming experience in C/C++, Win32 * Some familiarity with computer vision libraries such as OpenCV, Cognex CV 2. Vision Mechanical Engineering Intern: You will work under the supervision of an experienced vision mechanical engineer to design, develop, test, and modify mechanical assemblies containing industrial cameras and lighting units used on IC test handlers. Additional tasks will be given depending on abilities and experience. Required Skills: * Currently enrolled in a BS degree program in mechanical engineering, robotics or automation engineering, or closely related field. * Knowledge of mechanical and electrical design * Comfortable with large mechanical systems, hands-on person * Familiarity with or interest in industrial cameras and lighting systems for machine vision * Able to use lab test software, create reports using MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-PowerPoint Preferred Skills: * Have used or familiarized with 3D CAD Software (i.e., SolidWorks, Inventor)
