Weaver Consultants Group has an opening for an environmental remediation professional to become an integral member of our team and support the design, implementation and monitoring of environmental remediation projects across the country. The successful candidate must demonstrate efficiency and competency working well in an independent / telecommuting environment. We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 5 years of experience or other applicable environmental sector and at least 4 years of experience working for an environmental consulting firm. They will be a self-motivated, career-oriented geologist/engineer/scientist with a good understanding of chemistry/geology, have previous experience in environmental site assessments/cleanup programs, environmental sampling (soil, groundwater, vapor), technical writing and reporting, and environmental engineering. Some experience with remediation technologies, remedial selection/design/implementation and oversight, and remedial performance data collection and/or analysis. The candidate will be mentored to become an industry-leading environmental remediation professional.
The position has significant growth potential as the selected candidate will work directly with and be mentored by nationally recognized environmental remediation engineers and geologists supporting in-situ chlorinated hydrocarbon remediation projects for large Brownfield redevelopment and industrial manufacturing companies in Connecticut, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, New Jersey, and California.
Responsibilities
- Conduct groundwater, vapor, surface water, and soil sampling.
- Perform lithologic/geologic and geophysical logging.
- Oversee monitor well, gas probe, and other compliance monitoring and remediation system installations.
- Conduct statistical analysis on groundwater monitoring data.
- Analyze and evaluate remedial system and program data.
- Assist in the development and implementation of geologic and hydrogeologic investigations and evaluations.
- Implement and manage site/remedial investigation activities (Geoprobe, HSA drilling, geological logging).
- Interact with clients and participate in regulatory meetings in a support role.
- Organize and manage field sampling efforts, manage large amounts of laboratory data, analyze information, and prepare reports / data analysis summaries.
- Apply technical, detail oriented, and critical thinking skills to meet project demands, develop unique strategies and approaches, and solve problems for our clients.
- Remediation design and implementation (installation, operation, maintenance and monitoring) of some or all of the following remedial technologies: soil vapor extraction (SVE)/sub-slab depressurization systems (SSDS), in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO), enhanced reductive dechlorination (ERD), in-situ chemical reduction (ISCR), direct-push technology (DPT) amendment applications, water treatment / pump-and-treat (P&T).
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors and work as a team.
- Flexibility in schedule and out of state travel, hard working in the field with occasional 10-12 hour field days.
- Support senior staff as needed to complete tasks.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, or related field with at least 5 years of professional experience in discipline.
- Detail oriented and timely in completing assignments and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Ability to balance personal and project workloads and schedules for multiple projects.
- Works well as an independent but accountable team member.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office.
- Working understanding of ArcGIS, Google Earth, and/or AutoCAD preferred.
- EIT/GIT, PE, CWP, or RG/PG certification or have the necessary experience to obtain certification.
