The Department of Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for 1-2 postdoctoral researchers to join UCSB's engaging and diverse astronomy group. The successful applicant(s) will work in collaboration with Prof. Caitlin Casey on a variety of observational datasets and projects spanning JWST (especially focused on, though not limited to the COSMOS-Web Survey), ALMA gas and dust observations, and Keck spectroscopy. The themes will span massive galaxies in the Universe's first Gyr, early star formation and AGN, galaxy clustering and large scale structure, and dust and gas at high-z.
Applicants with experience in observational extragalactic astrophysics are encouraged to apply; those with expertise in optical/near-infrared (OIR) image analysis, OIR spectroscopy, sub/millimeter/radio astronomy, or SED fitting may be particularly well suited for the position(s).
The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service as appropriate to the position.
