Job Description SUMMARY The Level 1 Fireman performs start-up and shutdown activities and daily operation of H2 unit, HDS unit, Recycle unit, Nash unit & Steam system. Interface through DCS controls, electronic, pneumatic and/or mechanical systems to control the units to meet product specifications as efficiently as possible. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs tasks according to all OSHA or Martin Refinery codes, methods and safe practices. * Work rotating shift work. * Will be required to cover OT for other Firemen. * Responsible for preparing, securing and monitoring work areas per Safe work permit requirements. Writing Safe Work Permits. * Responsible for monitoring, understanding and recording accurate unit data. * Responsible for Writing Safe Work Permits * With assistance, control continuous operation of H2 unit, HDS Unit, and Steam Boiler to produce on specification product. * Responsible for maintaining tank temperatures, inventories and transferring of product. * Performs other related tasks as instructed. * Monthly Computer Safety Training Job Requirements EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE A High School Diploma or higher related experience.Requires basic computer skills, completed Fireman level 1 training, passing a level 1 written knowledge and/or test by at least 85%, must maintain a 3 or better on annual performance evaluations, must obtain a Boiler license and 24 hr Hazwoper certificate, must have or obtain an understanding of Safe practices and policies and must have an understanding of compressors, pumps and control loop components/ functions.
