Job Overview * 1st shift M - F 6 - 230pm 27.14/hr * Setup, layout and operate various CNC lathes and/or mills * Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications and tool instructions * Selects, positions, and secures tool in tool holder * Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers or fixtures * Moves controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds and depth of cut * 1st piece inspection (check first piece/pieces per blueprints and BOMs) * Observes operation of machine and verifies conformity of machined work piece to specifications * Requires ability to read blueprints and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers * Keeps work area clean and orderly * Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems. A Day In The Life * Performs any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools * Set up and Operate 3 and 5 axis CNC lathes or CNC milling centers (pending dept of hire) * Adjusts, trim and fitting parts to close tolerances * Follows visual aids (standard work) to ensure work is correct * Make up cartons, print labels, insert protective packing material, seal finishing product * Meet efficiency rates * Perform quality checks to ensure quality specifications are met * Reports defective materials or questionable conditions * Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition - 5S * Must be flexible to rotate job assignments within various work cells * Performs related duties as assigned by supervision What will help you thrive in this role?
