Are you passionate about improving access to quality behavioral health services? Do you have experience in health information technology and a drive to innovate? Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is seeking an Associate Director of Behavioral Health to lead our health information technology initiatives and clinical services.

Callen-Lorde is a leader in LGBTQ+ healthcare, providing affirming, compassionate care to our community for over 50 years. Our Behavioral Health team is dedicated to ensuring that every individual receives the care they need, regardless of their background or circumstances.

About the Role:

As the Associate Director of Behavioral Health, you will play a crucial role in our mission. You will provide clinical leadership, ensuring that our services are effective and compliant with regulations. You will oversee the delivery of high-quality assessment, psychotherapy, and group services.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership:

  • Oversee and provide clinical guidance for behavioral health services.
  • Supervise behavioral health providers (LMSWs, LCSWs)
  • Collaborate with the Director and Chief Behavioral Health Officer on clinical care decisions.
  • Provide direct clinical care to a patient caseload.
  • Complete evaluations for behavioral health providers.
  • Act as the point person for patient feedback and concerns.

HIT Leadership (preferred):

  • Manage and streamline behavioral health clinic technology operations.
  • Train providers on HIT tools (Epic preferred).
  • Oversee telehealth platform design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Design workflows for integrated care using HIT.
  • Partner with the HIT/IT team on ongoing technology needs.
  • Act as a liaison between behavioral health and HIT departments.

Program Development & Management:

  • Work with Associate Directors to plan and implement program-specific initiatives (group therapy, specialty programs) via telehealth.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure adherence to government funding requirements and regulatory compliance.

Administrative:

  • Complete mandatory trainings.
  • Maintain licensure and certifications.
  • Comply with Callen-Lorde policies and procedures.
  • Maintain communication with staff at all levels.

Qualifications

  • NYS license and registration as a LCSW or PhD/PsyD required
  • 3-5 years of supervisory, leadership, or related experience required
  • Experience working in an OMH/Article 28/31 clinic, outpatient primary care, hospital, or other medical setting
  • Experience with the utilization and training of providers in electronic medical records/health information technology platforms (Epic), preferred
  • Knowledge of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and HIV health/behavioral health issues and concerns.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple evidence-based approaches to behavioral health treatment
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate the provision of direct social services, problem solve, and optimize service delivery systems
