Job Overview: The Human Resources Director is responsible for developing strategies and managing HR resources across Oil-Dri's manufacturing and operational sites. This role ensures effective labor planning and allocation, enhances productivity through HR-related metrics, and builds strong partnerships with Operations and Manufacturing leaders. Additionally, the role leads key HR initiatives to support organizational goals. Responsibilities: * Plays a crucial role in the strategic and tactical support for teammates and labor relations activities by collaborating with business and manufacturing leaders. Provides leadership, coaching and advice to leaders to ensure effective negotiations strategy and execution. * Develops and maintains positive relationships with union representatives and ensures compliance with the collective bargaining agreement. * They will analyze and report key operational HR metrics such as turnover, retention, labor costs and headcount. The Sr HR Leader will foster a culture of continuous improvement (leaving the organization in a better position when they found it); HR operational excellence and pride in producing high quality HR systems/processes on-time. * The HR Leader works across sites to understand areas of concern, define problems, collect data, verify facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interprets a variety of data relating to employment laws and makes thoughtful recommendations for the most effective outcome. * Effectively engages in complex discussions with management and teammates at all levels and is able to make thoughtful decisions. * Proficient in handling teammate relation issues to guide the development of site HRBPs in putting together corrective action plans to implement lasting solutions. * Partners with manufacturing leadership to understand and design/deploy HR staff to meet the goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, engagement, and retention. * Aligns HR manufacturing to plan, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the manufacturing's human resource compliance and strategy needs and to provide a consistent approach across sites. * Administers/oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development. Ensures programs are designed to meet unique manufacturing needs. * Creates, analyzes and reports on key operational metrics associated with manufacturing trends including review of reports and metrics to assess progress, concerns and areas for improvement. * Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance. * Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management. * Engages manufacturing HR teammates to identify areas for professional development, training, and certification activities. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD). * 10+ years as HRBP in manufacturing environment and or Business HRBP in manufacturing industry. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR certified professional. * Must possess strong operations knowledge, and demonstrated leadership capabilities * Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. * Successfully led end-to-end process improvement projects, identifying enhancement opportunities, implementing solutions, and measuring results. * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
