Description NOTE: REVISED MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT FOR SOME AQUATICS POSITIONS! The Prince George's County Parks & Recreation, Southern Regional Aquatic Wellness Centerfeatures a number of exciting aquatics activities. We have several openings at the Southern Regional Aquatic Wellness Center located in Fort Washington. Instructor, coach, and trainer positions require the appropriate training, experience, and/or certification necessary to facilitate the course. Work hours are flexible and include evening, nights, holidays and weekends. Salary ranges will vary depending on experience and qualifications. Examples of Important Duties Southern Regional Aquatic Wellness Center has openings for the below opportunities: Aquatics Staff: Display a positive attitude. Maintain a SAFE, CLEAN, FRIENDLY, and FUN aquatics environment through fair and consistent application of rules and policies, effective patron surveillance, effective teaching techniques, use of preventative measures to minimize injury, immediate response to emergencies, participation in regular In-Service training, and commitment to creating an inclusive aquatics environment. * Lifeguard - $17.50/hour - $20.26/hour * Water Safety Instructor - $22.00/hour - $25.47/hour * Pool Manager- $22.00/hour - $25.47/hour Massage Therapist (licensed) $20.00/hour and above based on experience, qualifications, and certifications. Massage therapists must have a valid license from the Maryland Department of Health. Must provide professional quality massage appropriate for the individual client's needs. Responsible for client communication, room set-up and clean-up, promoting additional reservations, periodic supply inventory, and thorough documentation of all services. Candidates must display a positive attitude and have a desire to serve the public. Customer Service Representative & Administrative Support $15.00/hour and above based on experience, qualifications, and certifications. Greet and monitor facility admissions at front desk reception. Assist customers with purchases/registrations. Consistently display a positive attitude and remain knowledgeable of all facility activities and procedures. Answer telephones, receive mail and packages, and relay information to career staff. Must be able to efficiently and effectively use various software applications to meet customer needs. Ensure all facility safety and operations rules and regulations are being followed. Sell/upsell facility memberships and promotional items. Clean, load in, set up, monitor, break down and load out rental parties and special events. Perform other related duties as assigned. Ideal candidates must be able to successfully multi-task within a fast-paced environment and thoroughly enjoy going above and beyond to help people. Previous customer service, sales, sports and/or cash handling experience a plus! Custodial/Grounds Worker $15.00/hour and above based on experience, qualifications, and certifications. Display a positive attitude. Clean and maintain the entire facility; interior and exterior. Perform minor maintenance and repairs. Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries in a timely manner. Monitor the work area/facility with a conscientious effort to promote the efficient use of power, fuel, telecom, and water. Properly recycle Commission waste including paper, plastic, glass, and other products. Performs other related duties as assigned. Previous custodial, grounds keeping or maintenance experience a plus! Minimum Qualifications Vary by position, see descriptions above. All selected candidates must display excellent customer service skills. Must be at least 15 years of age (age 17 and under requires approved work permit). Supplemental Information These positions will not provide benefits.
