OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content. JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Nightside Anchor FOX 6 News is seeking a Nightside Anchor to join our team! The ideal candidate will take command on the desk and engage viewers with their smooth delivery and sparkling personality! Anchoring is only one portion of the job. You must be willing to pitch stories and content for all mediums including podcasts and digital. RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be dynamic, energetic and comfortable on the news desk, while aggressive and hungry to get the latest news content on the air and online at all times! You need to develop sources and have a passion for breaking news. You must be an engaging communicator who can connect with viewers. Great writing and storytelling skills along with the desire to be excellent in everything you do is a must! You will collaborate with the Assignment Desk, Producers, Photojournalists and Editors to create newscasts that are compelling and unique. Accuracy and urgency are a must. And social media skills are expected to attract, inform and engage the community. This is more than just broadcast news, you must be forward thinking, ready to embrace and lead FOX6 into the future of local news. QUALIFICATIONS: You'll need to have a minimum of three years main anchor experience. The world of TV News is changing, so you must be well-versed in all aspects of journalism, from online to working sources through social networking Our anchors here don't just sit at the main desk - you've got to be ready to move to a myriad of locations to deliver the news both in the studio and elsewhere.
