Job Title: Design Engineer Job Description The Design Engineer will be responsible for performing basic design, systems design, and detailed design for outfitting items. This role involves providing engineering analysis and support for production, material handling, and internal fabrication departments. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in AutoCAD, experience in a fast-paced production environment, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities * Perform vessel basic design, including specifications, general arrangement, and hull structure. * Design systems for piping, machinery, and electrical systems. * Create detailed designs for outfitting items. * Provide engineering analysis and support for production, material handling, and internal fabrication departments. * Develop 3D models for hull structure, piping, machinery, and outfitting items. * Produce 2D and 3D production drawing packages. * Perform material take-off for hull structure, piping, electrical systems, and outfitting. * Ensure completeness, clarity, and accuracy of 3D models and assembly drawings. Essential Skills Required * Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with ShipConstructor is a plus. * Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. * Clear and effective communication skills, both written and oral. * Ability to work well in a team environment. * Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. * Minimum of two years of experience in a fast-paced production environment; (marine shipyard production engineering experience is desirable). Additional Skills & Qualifications * Experience in vessel design, including specifications and hull structure. * Systems design experience for piping, machinery, and electrical systems. * 3D modeling skills for hull structure, piping, machinery, and outfitting. * Ability to produce 2D and 3D production drawing packages. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. * Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work collaboratively. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00 Benefits: 401(k), 401(k) 4% Match, 401(k) matching, Dental insurance, Employee assistance program, Flexible spending account, Health insurance, Health savings account, Life insurance, Paid time off, Vision insurance. Schedule: 8 hour shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday. Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Portland, OR.
