Market Research Intern (Project-Based, UK Expansion)

LCG Advisors is seeking a part-time intern to assist in the research and analysis required for the company's potential expansion into the UK market. The intern will focus on investigating the asset-based financing landscape in the UK, specifically field exams, and identifying key competitors, market opportunities, and regulatory requirements. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly analytical and motivated intern to contribute directly to LCG Advisors' potential expansion into the UK. Through hands-on market research and strategic analysis, you will help shape the firm’s international growth strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:

Market Research & Competitive Analysis:

· Investigate the asset-based financing landscape in the UK, with a focus on field exams.

· Analyze the regulatory framework for asset-based financing in the UK, including specific regulations affecting field exams.

· Identify key competitors in the UK, assessing their services, pricing, market share, and customer satisfaction.

· Determine market gaps and opportunities that LCG Advisors can leverage.

· Research target industries and businesses in the UK that frequently use asset-based financing.

Regulatory Research:

· Investigate the legal and regulatory environment for operating a consulting business in the UK.

· Identify any regulatory differences between the UK and U.S. markets for field exams.

· Determine necessary licenses and registrations for U.S.-based companies to operate in the UK.

Business Setup Process:

· Research the process for establishing a U.S.-based company’s office in the UK, including business registration, taxation, and employment laws.

· Explore legal structures for LCG Advisors in the UK (e.g., subsidiary, branch office, partnership).

· Research and suggest potential locations for setting up the office based on business needs.

SWOT Analysis:

· Conduct a SWOT analysis for LCG Advisors’ potential UK expansion, evaluating internal strengths and weaknesses, and external opportunities and threats.

· Provide insights into the potential challenges and benefits of entering the UK market.

Expected Deliverables:

1. A comprehensive report summarizing findings on the UK asset-based financing landscape, competitor analysis, regulatory environment, and client potential.

2. A business plan draft outlining the steps necessary for LCG Advisors to launch and operate a UK office, including legal, financial, and logistical considerations.

3. SWOT analysis of LCG Advisors’ potential expansion into the UK market.

4. Recommendations on how to effectively enter the UK market and position LCG Advisors as a leader in field exam services.

Projected Timeline

· Week 1-2: Conduct initial market research and competitor analysis.

· Week 3-4: Research UK regulations and the process for opening a U.S.-based office in the UK.

· Week 5-6: Conduct a SWOT analysis and complete business plan draft.

· Week 7: Compile and present findings to the LCG Advisors team.

Qualifications & Experience:

· Pursuing a Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Economics, International Business or a related field (required); pursuing an MS and/or MBA (preferred).

· Strong academic record with a 3.0 GPA or above.

· Strong research and analytical skills

· Familiarity with the asset-based financing industry (or willingness to learn)

· Ability to analyze regulatory and legal environments

· Proficiency in writing reports and creating business plans

· Knowledge of business expansion strategies, particularly internationally

· Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word.

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment as a part of a small team with top company executives and senior management

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Highly organized, with the initiative and ability to multitask and work with limited supervision as a member of a team.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
