MISSION: It is the mission of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) to impact and transform young lives, strengthen families, and support safer communities through targeted prevention and rehabilitation. JOB PURPOSE: Under the general supervision of the Criminal Investigations Director, responsible for providing video surveillance footage that addresses incidents at all department properties including the seven (7) hardwire secure facilities. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for retrieving and transporting video camera surveillance footage at all department property including the seven (7) secure facilities across the state within the Department of Juvenile Justice. Operates video camera surveillance equipment and computer. Maintains accurate reports that support the surveillance footage for the Division of Investigative Services, as well as other law enforcement entities. Ensures that all security cameras and monitors are always in full operational order, if they are not, notifies supervisor or staff responsible for fixing the equipment. Performs other related duties as required or requested by supervisor. Minimum and Additional Requirements STATE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma and relevant experience. A valid motor vehicle operator's license. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to travel to all facilities. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift 5 lbs. or more. Must be able to bend and reach. This position performs job duties relating to the custody, control, transportation, or recapture of youth within the jurisdiction of the department of juvenile justice, and the employee may have direct and indirect contact with youth within the jurisdiction of the department of juvenile justice. Training applicable to these duties will be provided.
